The Tapestry Collaborative was founded by Sharon Decker, an experienced leader in public, private and non-profit organizations. In her professional and personal journey, Sharon has recognized the importance of collaborative approaches to resolving community issues and challenges, be it communities of place or communities of interest.

The team focuses on economic development and community development initiatives, both strategic planning and implementation, particularly in geographic areas impacted by natural disasters or multi-generational economic deterioration.

Tapestry also provides educational workshops, seminars, retreats for strengthening individuals in body, mind and spirit. With the belief that communities are only as strong as the individuals that create them, Tapestry provides spiritual direction, guidance and support through outreach with individuals and groups, especially those who are redefining their lives due to difficult circumstances including but not limited to job loss, career transitions, relocation, dislocation or other personal life changes.

Our purpose can be summed up that we are builders of people and the communities in which they engage.

With a strong belief that God created us for community and with knowledge that one of the greatest challenges our culture is facing today is isolation of individuals, we believe we are about important and fundamentally imperative work, particularly in challenged regions of our Country.
